How to use Mappy
Everything you need to go from an address list to a navigable Google Maps route. Choose the import method that fits your workflow.
Mappy supports four ways to get your addresses in: file import (Excel, CSV, JSON), camera OCR for printed lists, QR code scanning, and manual entry. Each method suits a different situation. A delivery driver with a paper manifest will find the camera scanner most useful. A logistics coordinator working from a spreadsheet will reach for file import. Someone sending a single address to a colleague might prefer QR. These guides explain each method in full, with tips for accuracy and common pitfalls to avoid.
Import from Excel, CSV or JSON
Drag in your spreadsheet, select the address column (or combine multiple columns), set the start row and import up to 1,000 addresses in one click. Each address is automatically validated and placed on the map. Supports .xlsx, .xls, .csv, and .json files.

Point your phone camera at a printed delivery manifest. Mappy uses OCR to read the text and adds the address automatically. Best for drivers who receive paper manifests.
Read guide →Import via QR code
Scan a QR code that encodes an address or a list of addresses. Works with any QR code containing plain text — no special format required.

Every address is placed on the map
After import, Mappy validates each address against geocoding databases and places a pin on the map. You can see immediately if any pin is in the wrong location — before you set off. This catches typos, missing house numbers, and ambiguous street names that would otherwise cause a failed delivery.
Sort by fastest route or nearest first
Once addresses are validated and have coordinates, you can sort by nearest first (straight-line distance from your GPS) or by fastest overall route (an optimised sequence that minimises total travel distance). Both options work with or without a specific origin point.
Open in Google Maps with one tap
Mappy splits your validated list into zones of up to 10 stops and generates a Google Maps link for each zone. One tap opens the full multi-stop route in Google Maps, ready to navigate. No copy-pasting addresses, no manual waypoint entry.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use Mappy?
No. Mappy works entirely in your browser with no registration. Your addresses are stored locally in your browser and never sent to any server except for geocoding validation.
How many addresses can I import at once?
Up to 1,000 addresses per import. For larger datasets, split your file into batches of 1,000 and import sequentially.
What happens if an address fails validation?
Mappy marks it with an orange or red status icon. You can edit the address directly in the list, retry validation, or remove it. The address tips guide explains the most common reasons for validation failure and how to fix them.
Can I use Mappy on my phone?
Yes. Mappy is a mobile-first web app. The camera scanner and QR import are specifically designed for phone use. All import methods work on both iOS and Android browsers.
